Paris Sigalas studied Mathematics and later pursued postgraduate studies in Mathematical Logic in Paris. From an early age, he joined friends and family in the vineyards and winery, helping during harvest and vinification alongside his father, who carried forward Santorini’s long winemaking tradition.

While living in Paris, he discovered the depth and culture of French wine, and what began as curiosity soon became a lifelong passion. In 1991, this passion led to the creation of Domaine Sigalas, not primarily as a business decision, but as a personal commitment to the world of fine wine. His new, small winery, OENO Π, continues that journey: a natural expression of the same devotion, experience, and pursuit of authenticity.

Thanos Fakorellis has travelled an impressive path through the vineyards of the world. From France, Greece, Italy, and Lebanon to India and China, his journey has taken him across diverse wine landscapes, where he has crafted exceptional wines shaped by both place and experience.

Working across such varied terroirs has given him a unique perspective on winemaking — one rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the individuality of each vineyard. His work is guided by the belief that wine should carry the energy, memory, and character of the place from which it comes.

Dr. George Germanis, chemist and soil scientist, is an expert who has made a decisive contribution to the establishment of many vineyards across Greece. Holding a Ph.D. in Soil Science, he built a distinguished career combining scientific knowledge with practical expertise in viticulture.

From 1973 to 1990, he served as Head of Department in the field of radioisotope applications in arboriculture. Since 1990, he has worked as a viticulture consultant, collaborating with 16 wineries across Greece, Cyprus, and Malta. His work has been guided by a deep understanding of the soil, the vine, and the delicate balance between cultivation and nature.

Eva Athanasopoulou is a graduate agronomist from the Agricultural University of Athens. Her postgraduate studies in Viticulture and Oenology brought her to Santorini in 2020, where she joined the harvest at Domaine Sigalas and deepened her connection to the island’s distinctive winemaking tradition.

With the creation of OENO Π, she begins her career as an oenologist, gaining valuable experience alongside Paris Sigalas. Her path reflects a new generation of winemakers, grounded in academic knowledge and shaped by hands-on experience in the vineyard and cellar.
