Pigeons

The Venetians were the first to start the tradition and systematic breeding of pigeons in the Cycladic chain, knowing that their meat was delicate and that they produced high-quality manure for the fields.

It is said that the origin of the name of the volcano Kolumbo comes from the Italian Colombo, meaning dove, because during its eruptions the surface of the sea was covered with white foam, which resembled a white dove.

Pigeons also existed on the estate of OENO P long before the winery was created. Today they function as a visual bridge that links this tradition with OENO P.
